VACCR and Independent Auto Dealers Find Common Ground

The community mediation centers in Virginia, known as the Virginia Association for Community Conflict Resolution (VACCR), and the Virginia Independent Automobile Dealers Association (VIADA) have agreed to develop an alternative dispute resolution program that will provide VIADA's member dealers and their customers greater and more affordable access to mediation services.

Under the agreement, VACCR mediation centers will provide education programs for VIADA member dealers through their regional offices about how mediation can be a more effective tool in resolving many business-consumer disputes. In addition, VIADA has contracted with VACCR to provide direct mediation services for its member dealers.

The nine mediation centers working with VIADA are: Community Mediation Center, Harrisonburg; Conflict Resolution Center, Roanoke; The Dispute Resolution Center, Richmond; DSC - Community Mediation Center, Norfolk; The Mediation Center at FOCUS, Charlottesville; Northern Virginia Mediation Service, Fairfax; Peaceful Alternatives Community Mediation Services, Monroe/Lynchburg; Piedmont Dispute Resolution Center, Warrenton; and The Rappahannock Mediation Center, Fredericksburg.
