Payment Plan Policies for Fines and Costs

About

Payment of fines and costs through deferred or installment payments in criminal and traffic cases are authorized by the local court, and each local court adopts its own policy. Payment plan policies of the local courts are available through the links below. If a policy is not available for a particular court, please contact the clerk of that local court.

On November 1, 2016, the Supreme Court of Virginia promulgated Supreme Court Rule 1:24, which provides criteria for deferred and installment payment plans for the collection of fines, costs, and restitution which courts develop and administer pursuant to Virginia Code § 19.2-354 and related statutes. This rule is effective February 1, 2017.
