Program Information
The 2-day orientation class will familiarize you with the Virginia Judicial System and Courtroom protocol. This class is not intended to prepare you for the written exam. The orientation is open to all languages. The written exam is an intermediate level exam and requires months of extensive self-preparation. The materials provided at the orientation class will not be part of the written exam, and are just given as a source of general information. The written exam is only given in the following languages: Arabic, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, Russian, Spanish, and Vietnamese.

The oral exam is open to those currently enrolled candidates for certification in Arabic, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, Russian, Spanish and Vietnamese who have successfully completed the Written Exam and Orientation Training within the past three years. You may not have taken an Oral exam within the last 12-months.

Spring registration for the orientation and written exam opens in mid-February (class/exam in March) and Fall registration opens in mid-August (class/exam in September). Registration for the oral exam will open in early April, the exam will take place in May.

Fees:
Orientation: All Languages $200.00
Written Exam: Arabic, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, Russian, Spanish and Vietnamese $100.00
Oral Exam: Arabic, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, Russian, Spanish and Vietnamese $150.00

If you are taking the orientation and written exam, you may combine the amounts and send one single payment of $300 ($200 for the orientation and $100 for the exam).
